Jason Fried is an American entrepreneur, writer, and co-founder of Basecamp, a web-based project management tool. Fried started his career as a freelance web designer in the 1990s. In 1999, he co-founded Basecamp (originally called 37signals). Since then, Fried has led the development of several other web-based productivity tools, including Highrise, Campfire, and Hey. He is also a prolific author and speaker on topics such as remote work, productivity, and business management. In 2019, Fried and his co-founder David Heinemeier Hansson published the book "It Doesn't Have to be Crazy at Work."
